About the show

What it is, who attends

The Nordics dedicated organic trade fair, held annually in Malmö. Smaller than Biofach but tightly focused on the Scandinavian organic and natural-products retail trade.

Why it matters

Nordic retailers (ICA, Coop Sweden, Kesko, S Group) source private-label organic tea through this channel. Niche but high-conversion. Becomes priority when we add organic certification.

Floor plan

Halls and zones to know

Where tea, private label, and beverage buyers concentrate on the show floor.

Nordic Organic Food Fair

Certified organic food and drink spanning plant-based, snacks, world cuisine, baby food, beverages (including tea and herbal infusions), free-from, and functional food.

Why it mattersThe primary floor for tea and beverage discovery. Organic herbal, black, green, and fruit tea brands from across Europe and beyond exhibit here. Key decision-makers from Nordic retail visit this section for new product sourcing.

The Good Food Fair

Broader natural and ethical food movement encompassing sustainably produced, fairly traded, vegan, allergen-free, and regenerative-agriculture products not required to hold organic certification.

Why it mattersRelevant for Balkan Tea in the near term: conventional co-packing clients whose products sit in this ethical but not yet certified space. Also the zone where buyers preview what will migrate into the organic range.

Innovation Zone

Curated showcase of the year's standout product launches across all categories. Nominees for the Innovation Awards are displayed here for visitor voting throughout both show days.

Why it mattersHigh buyer foot traffic. Any tea brand shortlisted for the Innovation Awards receives guaranteed exposure to category managers from Nordic retail chains. A low-cost brand-positioning tool for exhibitors.

Food Stage and seminar theatres

Free-to-attend talks, panel debates, and buyer trend presentations on sustainable sourcing, organic market growth, retail strategy, and product development.

Why it mattersRetailer representatives (ICA, Coop, Axfood, Lidl) speak on stage, revealing buying priorities for the next 12-18 months. Attending these sessions without a stand is a low-cost intelligence-gathering option.

Live Pitch to the Buyer arena

Dragon's-den-style live competition where selected exhibitors pitch products directly to a buying panel from a named retail or distribution partner.

Why it mattersThe highest-conversion feature at the show. Past panels included MyCare Nordic and EgenvårdDistribution. All six brands pitched at the 2024 MyCare session were selected for listing discussions.

This edition

What to look out for

Live Pitch to the Buyer

Selected exhibitors pitch products live to a buying panel from a named retailer or distributor. In 2024, all six presenting brands secured listing discussions with MyCare Nordic. This format converts floor presence into actual range negotiations within the show footprint.

Innovation Awards

Visitor-voted awards across 16 categories including Best New Organic Drink, Best New Free-From Food, and Best New Supplement. Shortlisted products are displayed in the Innovation Zone throughout both days. Past winners include FORTY HERBS Organic Sparkling Tea (2022) and Tremella Mushroom Coffee by Råhygge Sverige AB (2024).

Årets Ekokock (Organic Chef of the Year)

The grand finale of Sweden's national organic cooking competition, hosted jointly with Ekomatcentrum. Attracts food media coverage and draws foodservice buyers and chefs - a secondary audience relevant to premium organic tea in hospitality channels.

Big Nordic Organic Debate

Annual panel debate featuring organic sector representatives from all Nordic nations (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, represented by organisations such as Pro Luomu, Økologisk Norge, and Organic Denmark). Shapes policy and retailer commitments for the following year.

Permanent Malmö home from 2025

After a one-year Stockholm relocation in 2024, Easyfairs Nordic has anchored the fair permanently at MalmöMässan. Malmö's position on the Oresund strait (25 minutes from Copenhagen CPH by train) gives Central European exhibitors and buyers significantly better access than a Stockholm venue.

Our take

Why we think buyers should weigh this show this way

Nordic Organic Food Fair is the highest-conversion trade event for certified organic brands targeting Scandinavian retail. With 450+ exhibitors and confirmed attendance from ICA, Coop, Axfood, Lidl, and Kesko, the buyer-to-exhibitor ratio competes with much larger shows. The Malmö location - 25 minutes from Copenhagen Airport - gives it strong accessibility from Central and Northern Europe. The Live Pitch to the Buyer format is unusually direct: at the 2024 edition, six brands pitched to MyCare Nordic and all six entered listing discussions on the same day. For Balkan Tea, this show sits firmly in the "visit now, exhibit later" category. We operate in the organic-adjacent space but lack the certification to exhibit on the main floor. The Good Food Fair strand is the right entry point. Priority shifts to attending as an exhibitor the year we achieve EU Organic certification, at which point the Nordic retail buyer concentration makes this one of the most capital-efficient shows on the calendar for a first Scandinavian listing.
